Buckle up! It’s a typical phrase I use when getting into the car with my three children…but this feels a little different. Right now I am finding myself buckling up for a whole new journey that the Lord is taking me on in 2020. I am so excited and so nervous at the same time. I am stepping out in faith and working hard to live out those dreams that have been placed on my heart. While there are several things I will be focusing on in the coming year, photography is high on the list. I am so excited to share this piece of my heart with you! I’d love to take a moment just to tell you more about this little hobby of mine that maybe many of you didn’t even know I had…

About 7 years ago, my husband bought me a Canon Rebel T3. I was thrilled but I had no clue how to use it! At first, I just toted it around looking for random things to snap a photo of, all while using the auto mode, because that little M on the dial scared the crap out of me! Our poor dog was quite the model back then! 😉 Fast forward to 2014 when our sweet Gabriella was born. At that time, I took a step back from something I loved dearly…teaching. It was such a tough decision, but I knew it was the right one for that season of life. You better believe our precious new baby was a jump start into my love of photography. I had so much fun capturing every little detail of her and all of the milestones. She quickly took the place as the model in our home, and Cosmo (the dog) was forced into retirement. Finally convincing myself that I could take on that manual mode, I started slowly teaching myself more and more.

I practiced on my babies, friend’s babies, family, and even used that Rebel T3 to shoot my very first wedding! I started to realized that this little hobby of mine was fun. It brought me so much joy to be a part of so many special moments in these people’s lives. I wanted these photos to be something they could treasure forever.

As the years have passed, more and more people have started trusting me to capture those moments that they want to forever hold closely to their hearts…families, newborns, birthday parties, family gatherings, weddings, adoptions, seniors, holidays, engagements, and so much more. Thankful doesn’t even accurately describe it! So here I am, 7 years later {with updated equipment of course} making a business out of this little hobby that has become very special to me. I believe God is using this in my life as a way to love on others, and if you know me, you know just how important that is to me. I am beyond excited to meet the people I’m believing God will place in my life because of this business, and I can only imagine the precious images of special moments that I will have the opportunity to capture! So, will you join me on this wild ride? Buckle up…it’s going to be amazing!
I most definitely will join you!! Miranda you do amazing work and you are amazing to work with families during their photo sessions! We love both the family and wedding pictures you did for us! You were able to capture all the personalities of each family member!
